I'm a fourth-generation Oregonian. I have published mostly nature-related titles with Oregon State University Press, including Afield, Edge of Awe (editor) and Birds of Lane County (editor). I recently co-edited (with Ulrich Hardt) the Collected Poems of Ada Hastings Hedges for OSU Press. I'm currently working on a history of Oregon ornithology, a collection of essays and an edited collection of the poems of Ernest G. Moll. My poetry has appeared in Fireweed, Gay and Lesbian Review, Riven, the Chronicle of Higher Education and elsewhere.
