Annie Sheppard writes mostly speculative prose - both fiction and nonfiction - as she is not entirely convinced by reality. Her work has appeared in Phoebe Journal (winner, 2016 Nonfiction Contest), McSweeney's Internet Tendency, Fourth Genre (runner-up, 2018 Steinberg Essay Prize) and is forthcoming in The Writer. She is currently working on a novel featuring lake monsters.
